THE ISLAND
Amorgos is a stunning, unspoiled island at the southeastern edge of the Cyclades. Known for its dramatic landscapes, traditional charm and tranquil atmosphere, it is a hidden gem for those seeking an authentic Greek experience. The island offers a striking combination of mountains, meadows and picturesque coastlines, with beautiful beaches such as Agia Anna, Mouros and Aegiali, and panoramic hiking peaks like Krikelos and Profitis Ilias.
Amorgos is famous as the filming location of the iconic film “The Big Blue,” and home to the Byzantine Monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa, perched dramatically on a cliffside above the Aegean. Relatively untouched by mass tourism, the island preserves its traditional way of life — a slower pace, authentic cuisine and deep cultural heritage that make it an ideal destination for a wellness retreat.
HOW TO GET THERE
To reach Amorgos:
Fly into Athens (ATH). From the US, connect through a European hub; from elsewhere, fly direct or via Athens.
From Athens airport, transfer to Piraeus Port — taxi (45–60 min), metro (~1 hr) or bus (~1.5 hrs).
Take a ferry from Piraeus to Amorgos (Aegiali or Katapola port). Ferries take roughly 5 hours; high-speed options may be faster. Santorini-to-Amorgos ferries (1–2 hrs) are an alternative if flying into Santorini (JTR).
On arrival at the port, we’ll arrange your transfer to the hotel.
