MEET YOUR TEACHER & HOST

MALIA HILL

Malia Hill has been practicing yoga for over 24 years and teaching for nearly two decades. Her classes blend creative and challenging Vinyasa flows with breathwork, meditation, restorative practices, and yoga philosophy, offering students an opportunity to build strength, cultivate awareness, and reconnect with themselves both on and off the mat.

Known for her fun, dynamic teaching style, Malia creates classes that are both physically engaging and deeply meaningful. She enjoys helping students explore arm balances, build confidence, and discover what is possible through consistent practice. She also teaches Yoga Nidra, restorative yoga, mindfulness practices, and has been sharing Stand-Up Paddleboard (SUP) Yoga since 2009.

Over the years, Malia has taught at Wanderlust festivals in Tahoe and Hawaii, led retreats in Croatia, Baja, Costa Rica, Maui, Yosemite, and other inspiring destinations, and shared yoga with students in a wide variety of settings. She led Yoga Day at the Oakland Coliseum twice and organized the Yoga Reaches Out Bay Area Yogathon benefiting Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland for several years.

A former lululemon ambassador for four years, Malia has also led yoga teacher trainings and mentored aspiring instructors. Throughout her career she has taught at numerous studios and fitness clubs throughout the Bay Area, including Just Be Yoga, The Yoga Company, ClubSport Pleasanton, ClubSport San Ramon, The Studio in Danville, and many others. She currently teaches at Equinox.

Outside the yoga studio, Malia is a full-time special education teacher and proud mother of a 17-year-old daughter. Her work as both an educator and yoga teacher reflects a lifelong commitment to helping others grow, navigate challenges, and discover their own strength and resilience.

Whether leading an energizing Vinyasa flow, guiding students through an arm balance workshop, facilitating a restorative practice, or sharing the wisdom of yoga philosophy, Malia creates an environment where students feel welcomed, challenged, supported, and inspired.

THE ISLAND

Amorgos is a stunning, unspoiled island at the southeastern edge of the Cyclades. Known for its dramatic landscapes, traditional charm and tranquil atmosphere, it is a hidden gem for those seeking an authentic Greek experience. The island offers a striking combination of mountains, meadows and picturesque coastlines, with beautiful beaches such as Agia Anna, Mouros and Aegiali, and panoramic hiking peaks like Krikelos and Profitis Ilias.

Amorgos is famous as the filming location of the iconic film “The Big Blue,” and home to the Byzantine Monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa, perched dramatically on a cliffside above the Aegean. Relatively untouched by mass tourism, the island preserves its traditional way of life — a slower pace, authentic cuisine and deep cultural heritage that make it an ideal destination for a wellness retreat.

HOW TO GET THERE

To reach Amorgos:

  1. Fly into Athens (ATH). From the US, connect through a European hub; from elsewhere, fly direct or via Athens.

  2. From Athens airport, transfer to Piraeus Port — taxi (45–60 min), metro (~1 hr) or bus (~1.5 hrs).

  3. Take a ferry from Piraeus to Amorgos (Aegiali or Katapola port). Ferries take roughly 5 hours; high-speed options may be faster. Santorini-to-Amorgos ferries (1–2 hrs) are an alternative if flying into Santorini (JTR).

  4. On arrival at the port, we’ll arrange your transfer to the hotel.

PVOLVE FITNESS RETREAT AMORGOS,GREECE

PVOLVE FITNESS RETREAT

Set on the wild, untouched shores of Amorgos — the easternmost of the Cyclades, where dramatic cliffs meet hypnotic blue waters and the landscape remains blissfully free of mass tourism — this retreat invites you to slow down and reconnect. You'll stay at the five-star Aegialis Hotel & Spa, the island's only luxury property, perched above Aegiali bay with sweeping sea views. Daily practice is built around the Pvolve method, a clinically-backed, low-impact approach to movement that uses resistance equipment to build strength, mobility, and lean muscle without stressing the joints — proof that transformation doesn't require high-impact intensity. Between sessions, unwind at the Lalon Idor Spa, named for an ancient water oracle once dedicated to Apollo, with its sauna, hammam, jacuzzi, indoor seawater pool, and fitness center at your disposal. Add in nourishing, thoughtfully prepared meals, meaningful connection with fellow travelers, and the quiet, elemental beauty of an island still shaped by olive groves, wildflowers, and the meltemi winds, and you have a week designed to awaken both body and spirit.

THE PVOLVE METHOD

Pvolve is a science-led method that combines low-impact functional fitness with resistance-based equipment to deliver results beyond a traditional workout.

The result: A strong, sculpted physique, plus increased mobility and better posture and balance to help you live a better life—for life

YOUR HOSTS

From Isla Mujeres in 2026 to Amorgos in 2027 — lifelong friends, lifelong wellness. This retreat is born from the bond between the owner of Pvolve Walnut Creek Venetia Vonich and XPLOREFIT's founder Katerina Fragkou who have been friends forever and proudly share their Greek roots. After an unforgettable retreat in Isla Mujeres, where guests left already asking for the next one, they're coming together once more — this time on the island where their roots run deepest — to blend XPLOREFIT's soulful, immersive retreat experiences with Pvolve's science-backed, functional fitness method.
