YOGI AND SPIRITUAL LEADER
Caramia began practicing yoga in 1978 in Minnesota, at Shanti House, a home for homeless and recovering teens. This physically and mentally challenging experience saved her life, and lit the yoga path to living a life filled with stability and acceptance.
Throughout her adult life, she felt compelled to establish real connections and give back. First, serving as a VP of sales training in cosmetics which later led to becoming a Wellness Advocate and Director of Marketing in San Francisco for Brown and Toland, a prestigious Bay Area Medical Services organization.
Due to a demanding career life, along with parenting two children (and a failing marriage), her yoga practice slipped to the side and she hit the hard wall of burnout and emotional fatigue. In 2008, with an urgent need to heal and transform, coupled with a burning desire to leave the “health care” industry and help those in need of REAL health care, she made a courageous decision to return home.....to her mat and enrolled in a yoga teaching training program. With an emphasis on each person's intimate journey, Caramia currently leads Yoga Teacher Trainings, yoga retreats, workshops and private clients. Her upbeat classes are vinyasa based, meditative, breath centric, and include anatomical alignment, and injury management prevention.
