Self-Care November: The Gift of Giving Ourselves Time to Pause

From our Yoga space Big Blue Retreat 2025 photos by PJCrame

There’s something about November that feels softer. The light fades a little earlier, the air gets a little cooler, and evenings seems to slow down. This is usually the month when I travel less and stay home more. I spend extra time with my loved ones, cook simple meals, and surround myself with true friends who feel like home. There’s something grounding about letting go of the rush and just being where we are. Self-care, for me, isn’t about adding more to my to-do list. It’s about giving ourselves permission to pause — to rest, to reflect, and to reconnect with what really matters.

The Power of Pause

In a world that moves fast, slowing down can feel like a radical act. But those quiet moments — the early morning coffee, a walk at sunset with Eros, moments with friends — that’s where we find balance again.

Self-care doesn’t have to be big or complicated. It’s the small, intentional choices that keep us grounded and remind us that peace isn’t something we chase — it’s something we create.

This month, many of us are choosing to refill by being still — to rest, to spend time with friends and laugh with people who remind us who we are. November can be our collective pause: a moment to realign before the year ends.

Looking Ahead to 2026

That same spirit — giving back to ourselves so we can give more fully to the world — is at the heart of our 2026 international XPLOREFIT retreats. Each experience was created as a space to breathe, move, and rediscover our energy in a way that feels natural and deeply human.

  • Isla Mujeres, Mexico | April 18–24
A luxury fitness and wellness retreat with Vanessa Pass (Pvolve Director of Fitness) and Venetia Vonich (Pvolve Bay Area owner). It’s about movement, strength, and serenity — a reminder of how powerful it feels to return to our bodies.

  • Bali, Indonesia | July 6–13
With Caramia Tambornino, an incredible yoga instructor and Yoga Teacher Training facilitator, we’ll explore mindfulness, flow, and the beauty of slowing down — Deep Dive into our yoga practice surrounded by Bali’s natural rhythm.

  • Sardinia, Italy | August 29–September 4
Together with Suzanna Spring, Laury Gallagher, and myself, we’ll immerse in creativity, movement, and mindful living in one of the world’s Blue Zones — a place that celebrates longevity, joy, and connection.

Each retreat is an invitation to pause — to restore our bodies and spirits so we can return to daily life more grounded and alive.

November Invitation

So this month, let’s all take a collective breath.
Let’s give ourselves the grace to rest, to slow down, and to spend time with the people who fill us back up and remember that taking care of ourselves is one of the greatest gifts we can give.

When we nourish ourselves, we have more love, patience, and presence to share with the world.
And maybe that’s what true giving looks like.

With love and so much gratitude,

Katerina
