Why We Love Mexico in November (and Why We Chose Baja California Sur for This Year’s close to home last getaway)
Gran Sueno
There’s something really special about Mexico in November.
It’s that sweet window just before the holidays—when life hasn’t sped up yet, and there’s space to pause, breathe, and reset. It feels like the perfect soft landing before the end-of-year rush.
This is what drew us to create our retreat at Gran Sueño.
Caramia, my retreat partner, had been there before, and from the moment she shared it, I knew this place held something unique. Set along the Sea of Cortez, it’s where desert meets ocean, with a calm, expansive energy that instantly helps you slow down.
I’ve personally never been there at this time of year—but I’ve always wanted to. There’s something about November in Baja that feels especially inviting… quieter, softer, and just right.
“Sometimes the most meaningful journeys are the ones where you slow down enough to feel where you are.”
This retreat is designed to be both grounding and playful. Mornings begin with movement and breath by the sea, and the rest of the day is yours—to swim in clear, warm water, paddle, explore the coastline, or simply stretch out on the beach and do nothing at all. We will wind down with restorative yoga under the stars and lovely beach walks.
We’re both drawn to places like this—where you can move, rest, eat really well, and connect. Fresh, nourishing meals, long conversations, and that laid-back rhythm Mexico does so well.
It’s a space to reconnect—with yourself, with others, and with a slower way of being.
Close to home, easy to get to, and designed as a true reset before the holidays.
A retreat where you can land softly… and still have room to explore.
For us, wellness isn’t about doing more—it’s about creating space.
Space to breathe deeper, move with intention, nourish your body, and remember what it feels like to feel good in your own rhythm.
This is exactly what we hope you experience here.
We can’t wait to share it with you.
